ArrMaz Infographic Makes It Easy to Understand OSHA’s New Silica Rule and Its Impact on Hydraulic Fracturing
August 14, 2017
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA’s) recently revised rule to protect workers from exposure to respirable crystalline silica took effect June 23rd, 2016, after which industries have one to five years to comply. The new OSHA regulation is complex and can be confusing for the various players across the hydraulic fracturing supply chain to fully understand their specific compliance requirements and the financial impact of non-compliance.
In response to industry feedback, ArrMaz has created a simple, easy-to-understand infographic which:
Summarizes the key compliance requirements of the regulation as it applies to various points along the hydraulic fracturing supply chain, from the sand mine to the transloader and eventually to the frac site
Provides a visual comparison of the effectiveness of the engineering control options available today, including ArrMaz’s SandTec® silica dust control proppant coating technology, to limit worker exposure to silica dust to within OSHA’s PEL across the supply chain
Summarizes the potential compliance costs related to mandatory site assessments.
